Miami dominated the game from the beginning, scoring 34 points in the first half and winning the game 37-14. Miami quarterback Ken Dorsey threw for two touchdowns and 362 yards, while the Hurricane defense held Nebraska's potent running game to just 134 yards.
The win gave Miami their fifth national championship and ended their season with a perfect 12-0 record. Nebraska finished the season with an 11-2 record and was awarded the number 8 spot in the final AP poll.
